Review of Lil' and Young Series - Yo Momma Said

“Mr. Ngwira, thanks for taking the attempt to write us viewers. Unfortunately, reviews to your clip are not good but I can clearly see why. I watched your clip and I am hip-hop lover, Nigerian born, living in the USA. The problem with your "music" is not necessarily the contents (you could have rapped about crap that is barely understandable but still make it likebale. There are a lot of rap out there that don't make sense but yet sell well and people buy the CD. This basically because of its authenticity. It is REAL CRAP to the utmost. I remember someone saying "IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING, EVEN IF IT'S NEGATIVE, DO IT WELL. You didn't even take the time to stand up or bust a move. From the viewers point, it's like how dare you to present something negtaive and not even use one iota of your energy. Hence the viewer feeling insulted.
If you are gonna throw a finger in someone's face do it well.
To make things short, the issue with your clip really is the CHEESEiness of it. It's downright tacky like a handbag purcahsed at Wal Mart - you can tell right away that its a knock off.
Next time, be more prepared, and instead of trying to be like some cliche L.A Gangster with useless messages (which is already played out), find your "own voice", write lyrics and develop new ideas as opposed to copying what we have seen 100,000,000 times and have become weary of. If I want to see someone that looks or sounds like you guys, all I have to do is open my window and look out on the street - plenty of them hanging around with sagging pants and do rags on their head. The lesson learnt here is BE AUTHENTIC. I am a supporter of Naija youth and open-mindedness but a Naija crowd is a hard audience to please especially with negative messages. Rember, Naija seeks 99% positive vibes - that's who we are and what you should sell.
But all in all, I give you guys kudos for even trying to use this medium to promote your art. Art is good when it pleases the onlooker. Peace.”

“Educational and kudos in aspect of bringing up the issue of spousal abuse. Holding back one star for supporting the idea that abortion is the solution for dealing with having a disabled child. Why not let the man live with the consequences by having that child - teaches him a lesson. Should be anti-abortion regardless of disability. God is in control.”

“Rating for Kunle Afolayan's acting only. Professional and likeable. Otherwise the movie is rubbish to me. Confusing.”

“Well thought of. Enjoyable and educational. Would like to see an extension in part II about what happens to the gold digger.”

“A very good movie. Gives an insight into Naija University gals. Only thing that irked me was the constant wig changing by the female characters. Sometimes I wouldn't recognize a character until she spoke. Multiple wig swapping is good for disguise, so please stick with one hairstyle or wig. I don't see it as versatile unless you are hidding from NBI (i.e. Naija Bureau of Investigation). Unless you own a Korean beauty supply, please stop the wig overkill.”

“A good one. Teaches to be careful when it comes to matters of the heart. Love”
