“there were a few interesting things going on. even though the script was appalling. For example, Francis Duru handled the Major Over Heat character really well. I was rather impressed. Also the war scences were pretty good for a Naija movie. I was a bit put off by the whole church crap. Why cant Nigerians simply engage social issues without bringing up church? 47 years of prayer and Nigeria is still one of the poorest and socially disenabling country in the world. Cant we get the picture? Prayer sucks as a remedy to social problems. Ditch it and start a revolution.”

“the liberian accent was interesting. It sounded kind of Liberian sha, but i'm curiuos to know how a Liberian would rate it. the story was drawn out. thats all i can say. Generally, Naija movies are improving in terms of sound and picture quality and this movie is much in keeping with that trend. I am impressed by the attempt to produce a "believable" Liberian character, but thats really all i found interesting about the movie. That's as far as i would recommend.”

“Scratch all these stupidly postive reviews. Trust me, anyone who thinks this movie is great is either high on holy spirit or just plain dumb. The storyline is painfully generic: the good girl turn sinner due to financial pressures only this time and worse still the story is told withing the context of an unimaginatively hyper-religious context. If you are not a fan or should i say fanatic of the new nigerian penticostalism, in order words, if you are not a kabashing person, you would find this movie unbearably boring. To show you that i am objective, inspite of the substandard level of the story, i would make the point that the sound and picture quality is superb. i was blown a way to say the least. the last time i saw something that good was in some of Ogoro's work. In terms of sound and image, Imasuen has really grown. i just cant understand the religious bent of some of his new stuff.”

“STOP! Don't waste your time. This movie is beyond bad. After twenty minutes into the movie, i did not know whether to be angry or to laugh. Whats up with the opening scene with the fake ass monster. And the acting? dont even go there. Whoever played the character called mark should be arrested for attempting to act and should be thereafter banned from ever acting again. This guy was worse than lifeless. the writing was.... i think i really need to stop. Maybe am just pissed that i just waisted my money and that Nigerian film makers still produce sub sub sub substandard work.”

“One word: SWEET. Mind you, i am a merciless critic of naija movies. first, dont get too excited. the movie still has some of the basic problems of a naija movie. and i was a bit bothered by the undue emphasis on popular assumptions about gender roles. However, pretty good acting and story. pretty good dialogue. and unlike other naija movies, they do not give the story away. Would have been much stronger as a one-part movie. notwithstanding, a sweet little romance flick. one more thing, i thought this is the best i ever saw of Noah. i liked the bored, slightly zoned out, tired, Keanu-Reeveslike character he plays in the movie: rather dashing.”

“i have mixed feelings. loved the production, sound, acting, script quality. In short, Impressed. i was just a little bothered by the hyper-religious tone of the story. this is a SERIOUS social issue. i would have loved to see a much less compromising ending. like the lawyer said, freedom will not come from heaven. you have to fight for it. And dont get me wrong. i realize that in reality, what she did at the end is probably the only option given nigeria's messed up legal system. but i still think that the movie was a bit soft on the husband's family. ITS TIME TO TELL THESE TRADITION FREAKS THAT OUR PATIENCE HAS RUN OUT.”

“an interesting nigerian adaptation of the hollywood movie, The Bachelor. Loved it. Like i tell my friends, it is one of those movies you can show to your non-naija friends and not fear that you will be embarrassed by Nollywood (dont act like you dont know that nollywood has never embarrassed). I also liked how all the women were accomplished professionals. I think that is a good message.”

“I liked the movie. Nothing profound or mind boggling. just a really nice chilled flick. As usualy, filled with naijadrama and farfetched coincidencies. I agree with g_osinuga that it reinforces disturbing assumptions about gender roles in Naija. Anyway, enough preaching. I definitely recommend it o. I what you need is an entertaining Nollywood flick, see it. Enjoy!”
