“powerful film. For the first time, I cried while watching a nollywood film. This film really takes you into the heart of trauma and its effects on lives. A must watch.”

“A moving film built around a traumatic event. The beauty of the film lies in the willingness of the director and actors to really feel and act out depths of emotion. It was wonderful to see - finally- a film with a loving and supportive family unit, a sensitive medical personnel, a supportive church and community. Unusual and so encouraging. well done. I hope part 2 is as good. ”

“Its a good film, strong actors and an interesting storyline, but I agree with the reviewer who complained that this film was stretched out to get the returns of 2 parts. Flick to the start and end of part 2. Essentially, part 2 fucntions as a music video since the actors had to work hard to drag their tears, joys and dialogue along with endless music for another needless hour.
If it was made as a complete film, it might have been a treasure. As it is, you want to know how it ends so you hang in there till the end.”

“a befuddling mix of boy meets girl, father's refusal, crimelord meets police and power brokers clash. The director lost control of the whole mess very quickly. The film had lofty pretensions to a crime/drama genre, but it fell flat. Actors did not know what to do with themselves and were very unconvincing. A juvenile and frustrating film- sadly, the story had potentials but the love seemed fake, the criminals seemed fake, the boss was fake, and Bose's parents were presumably hard core Yoruba but spoke with thick Igbo accents and irritating stereotypes of Yoruba mannerisms. really a low grade film. ”

“This rating might be unfair as I could not endure beyond 10 minutes of the film: loaded with fetish rituals. Just not for me.”

“great actors, a thoughtful story, creative location- a family/ethnic feud located in Cameroon. This should have been an amazing watch- but for a few problems:no subtitles despite some lengthy dialogue in French- or was this an izogn issue?; a baby son that definitely looked like a lovely baby girl; and some mummified actors in the concluding scene. Why do our films borrow white actors who cannot act? can any real human stand gazing placidly like a fool when gunshots are felling people near you? I don't know what reject pool churns out these wannabe white actors, but we don't need them in Nollywood please! Finally, one last problem - murder usually leads to police involvment and perhaps prison- not a happy ever after? well- this is cinema! so enjoy

“an interesting film with a most unlikely ending. who would a poor beautiful village girl choose of 2 suitors: an ill tempered, unattractive hunter whose main allure is that he loves her and believes he has paid for her hand with lots of bush meat and some cash to the family; or an immensely wealthy, attractive JJC who loves her but grates on the nerves with his sense of his self worth? Judge for yourself. Poverty should not matter in love - but when it is clothed in the garb of a skirt wearing, bad tempered hunter, perhaps love can take another look at its other choices. ”
