Review of Risikat

“5 stars goes to Funke Akindele who made this movie what it is. An interesting story about a female graduate with a love for streetfighting and a passion for justice. We only ever see such plots in western films, but here it is brought to a nigerian setting! I cracked up at the dialogue between risikats parents, and risikat herself as she manages to smash bottles over heads and land punches LEFT RIGHT! on everyone (including police!) who dare to cross her path. wonderfully refreshing plot...can't wait for part 2”

“concept is okay, acting gets tedious in part, but I was looking forward to the conclusion of this long and twisted tale of switched identities and battles over a man. Unfortunately, the ending was marred by the most annoying aggravating music that played loudly and insistentl. I could not hear the dialogue in the climax. Somebody hang that music twit, editor and director.”

“mediocre drivel! hungry ghosts, bundles of spiritualists and a search for an occultic whodunnit. Not sure what this mess ia about. A film you watch after exhausting very other option. But obviously others like it- its just not for me.”

“don't go by the cover image- its just a simple tale of marital jealousy in an otherwise loving marriage. perhaps a treatise on the challenges facing busy female politicians? The storyline is an old one but made somewhat interesting by the political dramas at the local govt level, the paradox of love and jealousy. The storyline falters and weakens in many areas, so the film wavers between a 3 and 4 star show. But in all, a nice simple viewing.”

“unusual tale of sibling obsession. It develops slowly but quite intriguingly. Hard to predict how it will ultimately end.”

“deeply occultic film. constant reiteration of evil, incantations, spells. wish I knew before- would have stayed clear of it”

Review of The Faithful Woman

“incchoate drama of irrational jealousies by an uncomitted male (lets not call him a husband), unfaithful men, treacherous friends and the old old notion of women as being all too ready to shift base. Bombs, guns and stupidty from a moronic script.”
