“good film - a composite of two Indian Bollywood films- especially a blockbuster indian film called Dhadkan. the storyline of the poor guy, his mom, the girls father, her attempted tryst etc come directly from dhadkan- but give Naija its due- the writer/director does a good job of mixing in other elements to make this a nollywood special. but SHAME on you izogn for the abrupt ending, no part 2 and no apology or explanation to your customers.”

“entertaining but ultimately concludes in part 2 with a message you don't want your menfolk to receive- aaaargh - why does the nollywood world still revolve around "men behaving badly and getting all they want"? Ladies please get out there and write some good scripts where men do bear the rap for their crimes.”

“good actors- idiotic ending. why is such a caring remorseful young woman made a sacrifical lamb while the main alcohol sodden male perpetrator -a self centered breaker of marriage vows- ends up with everything? This is so maddening- good female writers and directors are desperately needed in Nollywood. Folks, lets examine this message carefully. A man can mess up everything in his life and still get it all without any remorse? Good entertainment with a sick message you really don't want your menfolk to receive.”

“echo enousa comments- hyped up souped up long winding road going nowhere much. A great idea, focused on passing on needed marital hints to its viewers but somehow just lacks the zing, zang, sparkle of fireworks: rather we get a fizzle drizzle lights out. Such a shame, good actors and concept- but desperately ran out of stuffing in the first part. Even the romance seems contrived. still- ok for a dull evening or for newly weds.”

“a film in fruitless search for meaning”

“Energetic acting, but a dismal storyline with the most repulsive anti-female gender bias. Nkem stars as an aggravating man with a riotous household of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba wives and nine daughters all in his search for a baby boy. Sadly, the film deeply reinforces this horrific ignorant search for a boy despite the fact that it critically endangers women’s health and reduces the lives of numerous girls to a living hell. Kudos for the acting, zero stars for the story, shame on the writer for lack of a social imagination.”

“interesting take on traditional values on virginity. Engages struggle for justice - sadly the society leaves rape victims doubly victimized by a sense of shame, guilt and rejection when they should have comfort and support. Not a great film but a start in rethinking social norms and attitudes.”

“- a poorly acted and directed film with a gospel message buried beneath incompetence and jagged scenes. once upon a time, this might have been a 30 minutes church play-somehow it was caught on digital film and drags on and on. Truth is I gave up after 20mins, perhaps it improves later.”
