Born in Nigeria, star actress Ini Edo comes from a family of four; She is the second of four siblings. She graduated from the University of Uyo where she obtained a Diploma in Theatre Arts and just recently completed her Bachelors Degree program at the University of Calabar where she studied in English.
Ini began her acting career in 2000. She was discovered by a producer at an audition she had attended; impressed by Ini's performance, he gave her a role in his movie. Ini gave the role her best and since then, it's been one challenging movie role to the other.

Having worked her way to the A-List in Nollywood and with over 60 movies to her credit, Ms. Edo has proven to be one of the most talented actresses in Nollywood. Aside from her acting career, she is also involved in charity work, despite her tight work schedule, she carves out time to visit and assist the less privileged.
Ini loves a simple life and resides in Lagos; she celebrates her birthday on April 19th.

Ini, you are one beautiful black woman and as for your acting, you bring new meaning to that word. I especially loved you in World Apart, there are a few more that I could mention, but so as not to go on and on, I just want to tell you to continue the good work, and though I am in Jamaica, I would love to meet you one of these days.

Ini is breath of fresh air in the Nollywood film industry. She and Genevieve make me proud to think that we have such talent and desire to excel in the African woman in the arts. Bravo Ini and more grease to your elbow.

Definetly "A" list. I have enjoyed every performance and I know when I see her name in the movie that it's going to be not just good but worth watching.

apparently Ini edo has been BANNED from partcipating in movies due to her indiscipline and misconduct lol.... the ban took effect from 17th april 2007. Anyone know what's goin on?

I also read in an article that Ini has been banned for a year because of indiscipline and misconduct but according to me I don't think that is true she really looks like a straight forward lady. I gues maybe she was just trying to make her own stand in what she believes in and she was misinterprated.
