A crucial movie in all concept and creative essence. This is simply a most wonderful movie. Considering both parts, this movie: "On Bended Knees" gets my B++: 79% out of hundred. A great title too.
Deeply thought-provoking - especially if one has reason to relate personally to the story. I had tears in my eyes. It was so touching to see Ifeoma's prayer to GOD for her parents to be back together. Inspiring performance from all cast. I commend the writer, producer and director also.
Right from part one, in unfolding, this starts out slow, some-what bitter; yet loving with a highly reasonable and moving story. And indeed, the plot is relevant to our human experience. Entertaining and so meaningful.
Please, do watch this movie. Take my word for it.

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE HOWEVER I WAS DISPPOINT WITH THE ENDING. AS A CHRISTAIN SHE SUPPOSE TO FORGIVE HOWEVER THIS MAN WAS AN ABUSER WITH A VIOLENT TEMPER. HE NEVER DID LISTEN TO HIS WIFE THAT HE CLAIMS TO LOVE WHICH CAUSES HER TO MISS THE UPBRINGING OF HER DAUGTER.

Sundayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Haba, this movie is to typical. It is right on target. First, Nigerian woman are not culturally tailored to run out of their marital homes even under severe pain and suffering. They endure untold nonsense. The first time I caught my husband in adultery, I gathered my properties and was ready to move when an elderly and very respectable famale member of the society visited me. After crying out my heart out and telling her I was moving out. She called me to a corner and wispered to me words I will never forget. She said "do you see my husband sitting over there? I know you think he is the best of men and a strong christian too? I said yes. She told me that a few years back she caught him with her sister in her own bed making out all the way. The tears dried from my eyes instantly. She concluded by saying every couple you see is like a purse, you can only open it to see what is inside. Keep thy husband because the next one you marry may be a murderer or a lazy fool. My point is that we endure and keep enduring till the end. So this story is not out of line or order. It is what happens in our society. Very nice and relaxing.
My husband once beat me when I was eight month pregnant because a neighbor saw me at the bus stop and brought me home. Infact he is like the gentleman in this picture, sees things that are not and hears things that are still in the mind. In Nigeria I tried to endure because he is such a wonderful person except when he begins to get under the temper tantrum but then we moved to the United States where there is something called "law and order". I forgave him once, twice, third time and the fourth, I call the police. I thought he will never come back to me but he was back begging two weeks after, I am a christian, and a good wife, we have four boys and he is the best of men, so I forgave him and I am back. ha ha ha. We have to try but when we can't anymore, no one will tell you to run.

So far almost every Nigeria movie I have watched, the woman is always weak and always looking for a man to rescue her. In this movie, the man beat and abuse her, she was kept in the hospital for 6 months due to the injury he placed on her- He never came to see her--not once. He humiliated her and her parents. He took her 3 yr old child away from her--just to reunite again after 18 years of seperation?? In these movies, the men get away with murder.
I know Christ said that we must forgive, but there is no where in the Bible where He said --"women be thou stupid!" Yes, a good christian must forgive... but have you people heard the word forgive and "MOVE ON?"
Why must the women always go back to these losers. I am sure there are some good men in Nigeria or why can't a woman just say enough is enough and leave the abusive relationship?
Now please allow me to say this "RUBBISH!"
