Black Night in South America, explores the lifestyle of some Nigerians who deal in drugs to sustain a life of opulence. With their understanding of the environment and contacts with corrupt security officials, the drug barons suddenly become factors of relevance in the community they live. With influential characters like Micky (Godfrey Achinefu) and Suzzy (Eucharia Anunobi), a network of young Nigerian men and women living in Brazil has been established to deal in drugs. The arrival of Paul (Desmond Eliot) to the country in search of his brother who has relocated to Peru after his Brazilian wife chased him out of the country can be considered the beginning of the well-plotted story line. Frustration had become the lot of Paul, his parents and little sister, Kewe, back home in Nigeria. Despite his wealth and influence in Brazil, Paul's elder brother, Efosa, failed to honour his promise of redeeming his family members from poverty. All the money he made from illicit businesses, especially drug in Brazil, were expended on Brazilian women until he got his fingers burnt and was chased away by his wife. Paul's ability to find his feet in Brazil on arrival was, however, a hybrid of Efosa's generosity to his friends, especially Micky, who has become an untouchable drug baron. With the assistance of Suzzy, Paul gets in contact with Micky who promises to help him survive his stay in the South American country.
